The Homeland Security Program Committee has reserved a limited block of rooms at the Federal per diem rate, currently $140.00 per night.  This rate is subject to change with changes to the Federal per diem rate.  The hotel will extend this rate for three days before and three days after the scheduled event, based on availability.

 

Additional charges apply including state & local sales taxes and tourism assessments & fees.  Any active US Military Attendee with ID and Travel Orders will be tax exempt.  Any US Government employee paying with US Government check or credit card will be tax exempt.

 

The hotel will also charge a resort fee of $10 per night.  This fee is fully reimbursable for any active US Military Attendee with ID and Travel Orders or any US Government employee paying with US Government check or credit card.  Please reference the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) (41 CFR 300-304), specifically part 301-12.

The San Jose Airport, (SJC) is located approximately 75 miles to the North and the San Francisco Airport, (SFO) is approximately 106 miles to the North.  Most major rental car companies can be found at both airports.  The Monterey/Salinas Airbus provides airport shuttle service between Monterey, San Jose and San Francisco. The Monterey Peninsula Airport, (MRY) is located approximately 2 miles from the Hyatt Regency Monterey. Rental cars are available from Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, and Alamo.  Cab fare from the airport to the Hyatt is approximately $10.00 plus gratuity.

PARKING:

Complimentary parking is offered at the Hyatt Regency Monterey however parking on the Naval Postgraduate School is extremely limited and restricted.  Participants should not count on the availability of Campus parking.  If special arrangements are necessary due to a handicap, please contact the Conference Coordinator.

RECOMMENDED DRESS CODE:

Comfortable walking shoes and business attire are recommended for the conference.  The Monterey weather is generally pleasant at this time of year with Indian Summer-like days and cool, often foggy mornings and evenings.  A light sweater or jacket may be necessary.
